Model Flying Display

Wednesday, 17 March 2010

A new attraction at the AOVC Classic Show this year is the Northern Ireland Association of Aeromodellers (NIAA).

On the 26th June, at the AOVC Classic Show in Ballymena, the NIAA will be carrying out flying demonstartions during the day in the main arena.  Some demonstrations will involve Control Line flying, where the models fly around the pilot; connected by steel lines which will allow the pilot to carry out an Aerobatics schedule.

Also on show will be radio controlled Jets; because of their size these will not be flying but will be on static display.  These are the most exciting and exhilarating aeroplane that a person can fly by radio control.  These models can reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour - not for the faint hearted or beginner.  This is one attraction not to be missed.

The NIAA represents the 26 clubs in N. Ireland as Area 13 of the British Model Flying Association (BMFA).  The area website is www.niaeromodellers.org.uk
